Joe has been designing web sites since 1998 in his hometown of Newport, Rhode Island. Recently, he added his lifelong love of photography to his portfolio of services and counts the Newport International Film Festival, the Newport Art Museum and the Newport County Convention and Visitors Bureau among his photogrpahy clients.
In
addition to this work, he has taught web design part-time at Salve Regina
University, in Newport, at the New England Institute of Technology in
Warwick, and at Northeastern University's Dedham, Mass. campus. In the
recent past, he taught photography to high school students in
the After School Arts program at Island
Arts, and also served on Island Arts' board of trustees.
He currently works part-time as the director of operations for the Newport International Film Festival.
Joe has been involved with the Film Festival since 1999, designing and maintaining its website and photographing festival events. His relationship with the film festival spawned a very minor and short-lived interest in acting, resulting in his appearance in two festival-related film projects — the trailer for the 2001 festival and the 2002 "Five Days to Sunday" short, which was produced over the course of five days during the festival.
In 2003, he served as an executive producer for Newport filmmaker Alix Flood's feature "A Totally Minor Motion Picture".
Prior to entering the web design field, Joe spent 11 years as a reporter and copy editor at the Newport Daily News in Newport, Rhode Island.
Among his other interests are photography and cameras, writing and his beloved Mini Cooper.
